The extra effort to fix your own blueberry simple syrup is worth it in this lemon-ginger-blueberry cocktail that will impress.
1.5 oz. Dixie Southern Vodka
0.5 oz. blueberry syrup*
0.5 oz. fresh lemon juice
Spicy ginger ale
10 fresh blueberries
In a shaker, muddle 6 fresh blueberries, then add ice and Dixie Southern Vodka, blueberry syrup, and fresh lemon juice. Shake, and strain into a ice-filled mason jar. Top with spicy ginger ale. Garnish with 4 fresh blueberries (skewered) and a lemon slice.
*Blueberry syrup is equal parts water, sugar, and blueberries (make quantity as desired). Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes. Strain off blueberry skins. Store in glass jar. Recipe will keep for a week in the refrigerator.
